Entry requirements

Qualifications

The minimum entry requirements for a research degree at Teesside University are a UK upper second-class honours degree (2:1) or equivalent.
Funded studentships may also have specific entry requirements.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language you should have or expect to gain a minimum grade of 6.5 in the IELTS English language test.
If you don’t meet this minimum entry requirement, you can take one of our pre-sessional courses, as long as your IELTS level is at least 4.0.
If you hold a degree from a recognised UK Higher Education Institute, you will not have to provide an English Language Certificate.
