- the writing of either an original dissertation whose form, structure, volume and language are defined by the doctoral regulations of the faculty, or the writing, under the conditions set by the same faculty regulations, of an essay by the candidate showing the interest of a coherent set of publications and achievements of which the candidate is author or co-author;
- The public presentation of this work highlights its qualities, originality, and the candidate’s ability to communicate science effectively. The thesis defense is meticulously organized according to well-defined conditions. It represents the culmination of years of research and leads to the awarding of the degree of “Doctor.”
