Final output

The “Cinema and Audiovisual” doctorate aims to develop and finalize practical skills combined with theoretical skills in a project completed after three years of research within a team made up of doctoral students and teachers.

The doctoral diploma with a specialization in “Arts” – “Cinema and Audiovisual” is awarded to the doctoral student when he or she has successfully completed:
– the writing and submission of a thesis, which may be accompanied by other documents or supports;
– the defense of the thesis.
The submission and filing of the thesis and the authorization to defend the thesis are carried out in accordance with the procedures set out in the regulations in force. Once the authorization to defend the thesis has been issued, the final examination takes place in accordance with the procedures set out by the University of Strasbourg.

How to apply

The candidate for a doctorate in “Cinema and Audiovisual” follows the procedures established by the Doctoral School 520 Humanities (ED 520) within the doctoral college – University of Strasbourg.

Access to this doctoral training is granted following the evaluation of the scientific and pedagogical prerequisites by ED 520 on the examination of a file in all respects comparable to those provided within the framework of admissions to the doctorate at ED 520, following the latter’s calendar which you can consult on the ACCRA website (section “Registration in the 1st year of the doctorate”).

The application file consists of the usual administrative documents, for which you will find information on the ACCRA website (section “Registration in the 1st year of a doctorate”).

Once the application has been accepted, the candidate is then registered for a doctorate in “Cinema and Audiovisual” at the University of Strasbourg and pays the corresponding registration fees.
